Following her graduation from the University of Kingston, Lorato apprenticed at Oasis high street fashion retailers, in the UK and at Marella(Maxmara), in ITALY. More recently she was the Fashion Design Process Lecturer at SEWAFRICA in the JHB Fashion District, and a production manager for Bongiwe Walaza Designs.

Lorato is currently Fashion Liaison Officer for African Fashion International, a role that ensures that designer industry needs are met not only for the fashion week events but throughout the year.
